Takin' it to the Streets
Release date, book launch, and FCBD recs!
What’s up, fellow Alphans? Things are progressing nicely on the editing side of things as I move through the manuscript and tighten up a bunch of stuff to make this a book worth visiting and revisiting. The biggest challenge is finding 1) time and 2) energy to do the edits. I would LOVE to be one of those authors that didn’t have a regular job and could exist solely off the royalties from what I write but alas, that is not the case. Never fear, though, as I have a timeline and know how to meet a deadline!
That leads us to the first big piece of news in this newsletter- the street date for the book! There’s no better day than Canada Day for a book about Alpha Flight, so you will be able to get it starting July 1, 2025! I will share the link for the general pre-order when everything is ready- I’m just waiting on a few more components for the listing. Once it is up for pre-order, you’ll be the first to know! That means you have to wait less than two months to get your hands on it. The book will be $30 USD if that helps you budget accordingly.
The official book launch will happen on July 12 at The Uncanny Experience! I will be in conversation with my friend Chad Anderson, host of the Graymalkin Lane podcast, and we will chat about the book, Alpha Flight, and anything else Chad throws at me! In addition, this will be one of the few places you will be able to purchase a signed copy from me. If you are attending The Uncanny Experience this summer and want a copy, use this form to pre-order a book. I’ll be distributing these right before the program on July 12 and yes, there will be an extra little surprise included for those who pre-order this way!

Free Comic Book Day is tomorrow and, while free comics are always a plus, you should consider purchasing something from the store(s) you visit. Here are a few picks from the first volume of Alpha Flight I recommend diving into back issue bins for:
Issue 21, in which we learn the backstory about Gilded Lily. It’s high camp and extreme fun!
Issue 54, where we first meet Goblyn. I really love Goblyn and Laura Dean and this issue shows you where it all begins for them.
Issue 74, a really fun issue taking place in an alternate dimension in which Diamond Lil kills Spider-Man and stuffs his body into a dumpster.
Issue 101, which is Fabian Nicieza’s last issue and we get the resolution of a really impactful Lil storyline (he shared his personal story behind the storyline with me and it is in the book!)
As always, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] with questions, comments, or general tomfoolery!
